Great Moments Are Born From Great opportunities
On Friday Nov. 2/18 The Lindsay Muskies set out to take part in The N.O.T.L. Atom AE Harvest Classic. After a rough start to the season I am sure they were feeling like a complete under dog. But thanks to great coaching from all the staff they were able to believe in themselves.

On Friday the Muskies squad would face Central Wellington for game # 1 and once again struggle but showed promise with some great fore-checking and good defensive play from Patty Dowdall # 71, Colin DeShane # 16, Evan Duncan # 12 and Nathan White # 15 along with stellar goaltending from # 29 Xavier Evans. The Muskies were able to pull out a 2-1 win over their opponents. Jack Golden # 19 and Emerson Lang # 97 would provide the tallies for the much needed win.
On Saturday Morning The Muskies would square off with The West Mall Lightning for game # 2 and come away with a 2-2 tie on a 2 goal performance from Hayden Runge # 7. The squad knew they were much better then they performed, so without much prompting they showed great maturity and went back to the hotel for a much needed rest.
On Saturday afternoon that rest showed and not just in scoring. With a crash and bang fore check led by many including Kennedy Phillips # 9, Riley MacLean # 4, Charlie Baxter # 14, Silas Burns # 18, Keegan Avery # 6, and Jack Golden # 19 The N.O.T.L. Wolves could not move without getting bit by an aggressive Muskie in sponging season. Hayden Runge # 7 with the Hat Trick, Tyson Ahern # 96 with 2 gaols, and Jack Golden # 19 with a single tally would reap the benefits of this hard work, earning the Muskies a 6-0 victory and a berth to the semi- finals Sunday afternoon.
On Sunday Afternoon The Muskies would once again face a Lightning squad who thought they had rightfully earned a more coveted spot then their counterpart. While that was all the Fish needed to start the feeding frenzy and they took it to the Bolts and dominated with a 4- 0 victory on goals by Hayden Runge # 7, Tyson Ahern # 96, Emerson Lang # 97 and a bullet from Charlie Baxter # 14, which would earn them a spot in the final against the undefeated South Muskoka Bears late Sunday night.
The Muskies were tired and hungry all at the same time for their encounter with The Bears. We all know who usually wins in the wild between a fish and a Bear., But the Muskies were determined to turn the food chain upside down and hang some Bear hide for the upcoming winter. The game would remain 0-0 after the first period. Early in the first the Bears # 15 would score his first of 2 on the evening. But the Muskies would not die and refused to flop on the banks of The Niagara River. Evan Duncan # 12 would steal the puck on The Bears break out and set Hayden Runge # 7 in on his own for his first of 2 on the evening. Hayden Runge # 7 would once again tally erupting the MCU Centre and giving the Muskies the 2-1 lead, but late in the third the Bears would get a lucky bounce off a Muskie to tie the game at 2 a piece. The Muskie coaching staff would call a time out with a little over a minute left in the game and a face off in The Bears end. On a set play Riley Maclean # 4 would score to send The Bears over the Falls in a Bucket and send The Muskies down The QEW as 2018 N.O.T.L. Harvest Classic Champions.
